Your BEEEP IEEE Publication

You probably get a number of messages from the IEEE. What makes the BEEEP different?

Your BEEEP goes beyond meeting notices and bulletins from IEEE. Perhaps the most important difference is that the BEEEP is your publication. We heartily encourage your submissions, and we craft this publication based on your feedback. Your BEEEP is here to enhance our members’ lives and careers, and provide information that you will find interesting, informative and enjoyable.

You can be an active participant in the shaping of the new BEEEP by responding to articles with comments and by contributing articles of your own.

Near the upper right hand corner of the Home page is the “Register” button. Click on it and fill out the 2 line pop-up form.

Then click on the “Log In” tab just to the left of “Register button,” and enter your login and password. Once you’re logged in, you have full access to the site.

Every month there will be an in depth discussion of what we believe to be a current topic that will be of interest to you. This article will be the headliner for that month’s issue and will vary among multiple subjects.

What’s Really Going On  With “XXX” (Opinion Posts)
Your BEEEP clearly recognizes “fact” from “opinion,” so while our monthly feature article will offer some hopefully interesting “meat and potatoes” features on timely topics, this opinion post will provide the “gravy” (or more accurately, our admitted biases on the same subject matter). Members are also encouraged to start a thread, and we’ll publish it along with reader responses.

Have you ever come across a work problem or situation that had everyone stumped, but in the end, you solved it. This is not the time to be modest. Tell us about it!

Engineering Joke of the Month
We all like a good laugh, especially those related to engineers!

Engineering Riddle of the Month
We’ll include riddles that use logic and sometimes technology to solve. You can put on your thinking caps to figure them out. There’ll be a new riddle every month, and the answer to last month’s.

Survey of the Month
You may be surprised how much the volunteer executives of your local chapter want to know how to better serve you. To that end, we’ll provide occasional surveys asking you for your suggestions and opinions. All that info will go direct to the Oregon Section!

SPECIAL NAVIGATIONAL ACCESS

Navigating within your BEEEP uses the standard course-plotting tools found on most web sites. However one special feature worth noting is that if you click on any category heading, you will be able to access ALL the articles within that category. For example, suppose you were thinking about your career or employment, and wanted to access everything your BEEEP had to offer. Just click on the category Your Career Advancement, and you will have that full access.
